Curé of Ars School of Religion serves the parish community of families whose children attend a school outside of the Catholic school system. Our program exists to instill confidence in our students to become missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. As a parish, we are centered in the Sacraments, especially in the Eucharist, and dedicated to bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to our immediate community and beyond. Our goal is to support parents and guardians as the primary educators of our faith by encouraging families to grow their relationship with Jesus Christ and to live out this relationship daily. We welcome children from all backgrounds and those with special needs who may need accommodation.

The School of Religion Three Pillars:
1. Evangelization
The students will grow stronger in their understanding of our Catholic faith while encouraging and supporting one another to live out their faith in their daily lives. Each grade will be given opportunities to encounter the love and mercy of Jesus.
During the bi-monthly class for the students, parents are asked to attend the Parent Small Faith Groups (PSFG) in the Fr. Burak Room. Sessions will be held while children are in class and will include a social time for parents to build friendships and community. We will also have time to reflect and discuss Scripture and promote ways to pass on the faith to our children. These PSFG meetings are essential to our program. They offer an ongoing opportunity for parents to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ, support one another, and build community within our parish.
2. Sacramental Life & Family Events
Experiencing the Sacramental traditions and beauty of our faith is inspiring. School of Religion families will attend Sacramental events in the Church together. Sharing these experiences as a family and as a greater parish community enriches our understanding of the Catholic faith and broadens our opportunities to worship.
Additional events, such as Family Gatherings and Works of Mercy, are hosted at our parish and include families. There is a community-building aspect to the Works of Mercy, as well as an opportunity to help others in our community who are in need.
3. Faith Formation Sessions
1st-8th grade classes are held twice per month on Wednesday evenings in the Curé of Ars Parish School. Classes are led by Catechists and Aides.
1st-6th grade will use a flipped classroom approach using the Faith and Life Series by Ignatius Press. Children are encouraged to prepare before each class by completing their assignments from the syllabus. The flipped classroom approach allows for hands-on activities during class to emphasize lessons already completed.
7th and 8th-grade classes will consist of small group discussions using the Chosen program by Ascension Press for Confirmation Prep. Students will not be required to complete homework unless a class is missed.
